Introduction

OpenBook 7 (“OB7”) is a professional trading platform for foreign exchange and contracts for difference, developed and operated by The DRU. Its core innovation lies in delivering best-execution transparency and comprehensive, independent auditing capabilities.

Operating directly on The DRU’s proprietary rails, OpenBook 7 integrates with the world’s first trading platform architecture built on a tokenless, permissioned blockchain: The DRU FX Blockchain — without the use of any cryptocurrency or tokens.

Verification

OpenBook 7 leverages the DRU FX Blockchain for robust verification. Certified Public Accountants and Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS)-compliant firms will operate independent validator nodes in a permissioned network. This federated architecture distributes data verification and enables on-chain confirmation of ingested records on our public ledgers, or directly from the trading platform.

Through the platform, end users can independently verify and review the following information at any time:

  • The precise extent to which a broker/firm is trading against (or with/for) them, including hedged positions, associated profit and loss (PnL) of the broker/firm’s market position, and detailed visibility into each hedge;

  • Every historical market quote at the exact time it was given, fully replayable with millisecond precision;

  • Account-level statistics at exact millisecond intervals (e.g. equity/balance at a specific date, hour, minute, or second);

and additional data sets as required.

All information resides immutably on the blockchain ledger following ingestion and consensus among validator nodes, providing absolute proof, replayability, and auditability.

Impact

OpenBook 7 is expected to deliver a transformative advancement for the global foreign exchange industry. The platform will enable institutional and retail participants to:

  • Independently verify the track records of publicly promoted traders and trading strategies;

  • Monitor A-book and B-book practices of brokerage firms through verifiable, post-facto records; and

  • Provide firms and brokers with a powerful, independently verifiable tool that can be commercially licensed to support business development, marketing, and client acquisition.

Solutions

To support institutions adopting this new standard, The DRU will extend full access to its proprietary infrastructure to all commercially licensed partners. This includes:

  • Secure access to private blockchain segments dedicated to settlement, enabling real-time payments to traders with zero risk of institutional undercapitalization;

  • Integration with The DRU’s established banking relationships and proprietary debit solutions, allowing enhanced UX for clients when spending their rewards;

  • Dedicated A-book management infrastructure, purpose-built for brokers and proprietary trading firms to operate their books responsibly and profitably while avoiding conflict of interest with client interests;

  • Comprehensive ongoing support to address any operational or technical requirements arising from the adoption of this technology.

Commercial Licensing

Commercial licensing of OpenBook 7 will commence in April 2026.

Licensing is offered with no upfront fees. All platform maintenance, updates, and infrastructure management are handled entirely in the cloud by The DRU, eliminating operational overhead for licensees.
